Media Act 2025 Commencement Dates October 23. On friday 24th may 2025, the media bill was given royal assent and officially became the media act 2025. There are some formal steps remaining, with most parts of the media act set to come into force on a date to be determined by.
There are currently no known outstanding effects for the media. On wednesday 21 august, the first commencement regulation relating to the act was laid before parliament, setting out those provisions in the act which come into force on 23.
